The Quay Glasgow is crowned Scotland’s entertainment complex in 2016

The Quay Glasgow was declared Scotland’s Entertainment Complex/ Shopping Centre of the Year at the prestigious red carpet national event held in Glasgow on 13th June which recognised the outstanding achievements of destinations providing exceptional entertainment and hospitality.

Glasgow’s leading entertainment destination was initially voted to the finalist stages by the public and the evaluation process was then completed by a panel of industry judges who evaluated the achievements of each finalist to decide upon the winner. The riverside entertainment complex fought off strong competition from other shortlisted centres which included Shop Silverburn, Ocean Terminal, Intu Braehead, Buchanan Galleries and Livingston Designer Outlet.

The award follows a phenomenally successful year with the opening of celebrity chef Tony Singh’s restaurant ‘Tasty’ overlooking the river at Alea Glasgow, Odeon received a fantastic new makeover and introduced improved ticket pricing and the green light was given to undertake a massive programme of improvement works to upgrade the complex.

Commenting on the event, Mark Sealey of DTZ Investors, acting on behalf of Strathclyde Pension Fund and owners of the complex said, "To be recognised at these national awards is great recognition for the entertainment complex and further strengthens our position as the destination of choice within the catchment. The programme of improvement works to provide upgraded entertainment experiences for customers is nearing completion and will further enhance the leisure park’s offerings.’’
